Criteria for Granting a Certificate of Improvement

Information about the CPG / IC decision regarding the granting of a Certificate of Improvement for strictu sensu graduate students who give up completing the degree for which they were admitted to the Program.

CPG / IC RESOLUTION - 02/97 of 02/12/1997

Considering the CEPE-A-3 Deliberation, of 13/03/1996, the Graduate Committee of the Unicamp Institute of Computing establishes that:

Art 1 Specialization Certificates will not be granted by the CPG of the IC for stricto sensu graduate students of the Institute.

Art 2 For stricto sensu graduate students from the Institute admitted to the postgraduate program before March 1997, the granting of a Certificate of Improvement by the CPG of the IC will only occur in the following cases:

  1. The request must be sent to DAC as a regularly enrolled student, or up to one year after his eventual dismissal or one year after the date of issuance of this Resolution, whichever occurs later.
  2. The student must have completed credits corresponding to at least 360 class hours;
  3. The student must have a Coefficient of Performance equal to or greater than 3.0.

Art 3 For stricto sensu graduate students from the Institute admitted to the postgraduate program from March 1997, the CPG Improvement Certificate will only be granted in the following cases:

  1. The request must be sent to DAC as a regularly enrolled student, or up to a maximum of one year after your eventual departure from the program.
  2. The student must have completed credits corresponding to at least 360 class hours during his first year in the program
  3. The student must have a Coefficient of Performance equal to or greater than 3.0;
  4. The student who has received a scholarship from a public research promotion agency for any period after his twelfth month in the program must provide an official document from that agency confirming that he is not in debt to it. It will be required to provide such a document issued by each agency of which the student has been a scholarship holder after his twelfth month in the program.
