He has a degree in Civil Engineering from the State University of Campinas - UNICAMP (1980), a master's degree in Computer Science from UNICAMP (1985) and a doctorate in Electrical Engineering from UNICAMP (1991). He is currently Professor of the Institute of Computing (IC) at UNICAMP and a member of the editorial board of Springer's Journal of Network and Systems Management (JNSM). He received the Zeferino Vaz Award for Academic Recognition from Unicamp in 2004. He has experience in the field of Computer Science, with emphasis on Computer Networks and Distributed Systems.
