Doctoral student Silvana Trindade, supervised by Prof. Nelson Fonseca, was awarded the prestigious Ph.D. Fellowship Award from the IBM University Awards.
Doctoral candidates from 183 universities from 32 different countries competed, with 16 scholarships awarded and only 2 scholarships for students from the southern hemisphere. This award has not been awarded to a Brazilian researcher since 2016.
Silvana's PhD thesis is about federated learning (from English, federated learning).
