Do I need to study VHDL for the first test?
No, you will not be charged VHDL in the first race.
What to study about MOSFET transistors?
You need to know how each transistor (PMOS, NMOS) works (when it is open and when it is closed) and how to build a logic gate with each of them and also CMOS logic gates (including the gates complex logic).
