L1CACHE

Description

Newton barrier: L1 cache size in kB (kilo bytes) of the CPU. On Intel (or compatible) platforms a value of -1 may be used to determine the cache size automatically.

Notes

Specifying the correct L1 cache size can give a significant performance advantage with the Newton barrier algorithm.

If the size is unknown, it is better to specify a smaller size.

If the size cannot be determined automatically on Intel (or compatible) platforms, a default size of 8 kB is assumed.
