4. Which amino acids are coded by the maximum number of codons over all amino acids in the (standard) genetic code?

Answer:

In the table of amino acids combinations, there are three aminoacid coded by the maximum number of codons in the genetic code:

  1. LEUCINE(LEU): It is encoded in messenger RNA as UUA, UUG, CUU, CUC, CUA, or CUG.
  2. SERINE(SER): Its codons are UCU, UCC, UCA, UCG, AGU, and AGC.
  3. ARGINE(ARG): In the structure of the messenger ribonucleic acid mRNA, CGU, CGC, CGA, CGG, AGA, and AGG code for it.
