      In this paper, we describe an envelope process for the fractal
      Brownian motion (fBm) process. We investigate the time scale of
      interest of queuing systems fed by a fBm process. We also
      introduce the Fractal Leaky Bucket, a novel policing mechanism
      which is able to accurately monitor self-similar sources.
      Moreover, we show expressions for computing the equivalent
      bandwidth of an aggregate of heterogeneous self-similar sources.
