# Preparing a phonetic spelling version of "Dom Casmurro".

To create the phonetic spelling version, we used the modern (~1999)
spelling version of the words file "../csm/main.wds".

We extracted the lexicon of that file and used emacs to turn it 
into a table that maps the words of the book (only those) from
modern official spelling to a phonetic spelling.
  
Then mapped the word-per-line file "../csm/main.wds" by the table
to get a new "main.wds".  Note that there is no "main.src".

Then converted the mapped wordlist "main.wds" to plain text
(with light LaTeX markup).  See the Makefile.
  
  
  
  ook the marely formatted text of /Dom Casmurro/ in modern spelling
  ("main.txt") and extracted the word
  list as file "orig-cata.tbl". Used emacs's re-replace to do the bulk
  of the conversion. Then checked all words and fixed special cases.
  
  Mapping the word-per-line file "orig.wds" by the table.

  Then converted the mapped wordlist to plain text with LaTeX markup.
