  are the occurrence of "-" between words (and not only as Landini's
  end-of-line marker) and a substantial number of loose "i"s.

  non-final "-" as a word space, and accept loose "i"s as letters.

  At this level, the differences between the two susbsets
  seem to be mainly confined to the "a"/"o" split (the 
  total frequency is the same!) and the greater use of "8"
  in Herbal-B (8%) against Herbal-A (5%).  
  
  Not surprisingly, the word frequencies look quite different.
  A quick examination suggests that Herbal-B tends to use
  the "8a" ending ("8G" in FSG) in some cases where Herbal-A
  uses something else.  To check this hunch, I recomputed
  the word frequencies, mapping "o" to "a".  
  I also split the Herbal-A sample into two sets,
  initial and final, all trimmed to same size (2300 words).
