Fragment Re-Assembly Project - Datasets
Multiscale fragment re-assembly
Dataset ceramic-3 (unglazed):
An artificial but realistic dataset (ceramic-3) was
generated by breaking five unglazed ceramic tiles into 112
fragments. This data set is available below as a collection of Unix
tar/gzip archives. The numbers in brackets refer to the
compressed archive and to the the uncompressed individual files,
respectively.
- Dataset description (README file).
- Input images -
PGM images of fragments as scanned, in four batches.

- Isolated fragments -
individual PGM images and raw extracted outlines.

- Multiscale data -
fragment outlines filtered at various scales of resolution.
[tgz 40 MB]

- Non-fractures - list of
outline portions that are not fracture lines.

- Ideal solution -
pairs of outline segments that are known to be adjacent in
the original objects.

- Reassembled puzzle -
PGM images of the ceramic fragments, reassembled by hand
into the original tiles.

Dataset glazed-1 (glazed):
A second artificial dataset (glazed-1) was
generated by breaking nine glazed ceramic tiles into 402
fragments. This data set is available below as a collection of Unix
tar/gzip archives. The numbers in brackets refer to the
compressed archive and to the the uncompressed individual files,
respectively.
