Postdoctoral research fellowship
In 2015 I became postdoc fellow at Institute of Computing (IC) - University of Campinas (UNICAMP). I am part of the team of a research project coordinated by Prof. Dr. Siome Goldenstein (PI) and Prof. Dr. Rodolfo Azevedo (co-PI). This project involves researches from Computer Vision, Content based Information Retrieval (CBIR), and Hardware Design areas.

My Ph.D degree
I got my Ph.D in Computer Science from Institute of Computing (IC) at University of Campinas (UNICAMP) in 2014. I was adviced by Prof. Dr. Ricardo da Silva Torres and my doctoral research project title was "A Multimodal Framework for Geocoding Digital Objects". During my one-year (2010/2011) Ph.D full-time interniship at Digital Library Research Laboratory (DLRL), Virginia Tech, I was supervised by Prof. Dr. Edward A. Fox.
I am still a member of Reasoning for Complex Data Laboratory (RECOD) and during my doctoral studies was also member of Laboratory of Information Systems Information (LIS).

My Master degree
I was awarded the master degree in Computer Science in 2001 with the work entitled "DNA assembly using 'Ordered Shotgun Sequencing' (OSS)" (in Portuguese). This work was in Computational Biology area and advised by Prof. Dr. João Meidanis at IC - UNICAMP. From 1998 to 2002 I was a member of the Laboratory for Bioinformatics (LBI) at Institute of Computing -- University of Campinas. LBI played an important role in the first Brazilian Geonome Sequencing project, as well as other projects like the Sugar Cane EST Genome Project and Human Cancer Genome Annotation Project.

The start
My involvement in information and communications technology (ICT) started in hight school, when I enrolled in the Data Processing course at Brazilian Federal Tecnical School of São Paulo back in 1989. From there I have never stopped paving my way to computer science and ICT research and development.
